Happy New Year! :D

Sincerely of the list presented there is no one that was on my indie wishing list. Also more than anything I would want games that work in linux, I like that a few of those listed actually do.

About the listed games:

Wanting
----------

* Volt
* Project Night ( I like the look of Project night, I filled the entry for it in LGDB but its still unfinished I think)

Cant' figure it out
---------------------

* Dungeon of elements (I've already seen it in other bundles but the videos never made be want it... maybe I have to try a demo or something. Anyone tried it?)

Not wanting
---------------

* Seduce me :oops:

Those with the fantasy/RPG theme also grabbed my attention, but in the moment I have quite a few of games to be played, so... I'll save them for latter maybe.
EDIT: It is for Win only, but Space Salvager also seems pretty neat!

my opinions
1) Derrick the Deathfin - looks very original - would buy
2) Project Night - looks promising but unpolished. but since shortage is form pre-alpha, i would wait for like beta at least, cos it might be improved. i would not buy it in this state.
3) i would grab reversion, if i had not already had it

So, for me only 100% would buy is Derrick the Deathfin.

So it's time again for chosing the right paths, well I take these:

a) Derrick the Deathfin
b) Dungeon of Elements
c) Reversion Chapt. 2

Those are my top 3 ... and happy new year folks!

Volt - this game is on my "to-buy-list", so if it gets featured on IGS, I will pick it up.
Derrick the Deathfin - This looks really cool, and I think it would do well on IGS.
Project Night - I pick up every horror game, even tho I piss my pants before anything scary happens.

?
Three Dead Zed - Wasn't this suggested before and got mixed reviews here? I remember it vaguely and then I picked it up somewhere else as it wasn't featured but I was interested in it. It is a fun game, but I am worried if it would sell good here.
Seduce Me - I would probably pick it up, just to see how it really plays.

These are the only games I can comment on.

Expect that they'd do well:
-Volt
-Derrick the Deathfin
-Ku: Shroud of the Morrigan
-Hero Siege
-Dungeon Elements
-Reversion

What the hell did I just watch? (but I liked the trailer music):
-Aeternum

-Seduce Me -- whilst I'm all for boobz and wangs (and a competent art style) ... gameplay looks dull. Has there EVER been an erotic game with decent gameplay? I doubt it ...

One of my resolutions this year is to be more selective about buying because I have built a surprisingly massive library of titles through buying indies and bundles and when I tried to catalog them I discovered that I have been buying a lot that I have gotten elsewhere and keeping track of it all is becoming a job in and of its self. So I am trying to keep to buying only what I dont already have and would play immediately rather than hoarding copies across channels.

1 As for personal interest, I would say Seduce me would actually be my number 1, albeit barely. Ive always been kind of curious about the whole Dating sim thing but have long been repulsed by anime all together. So seeing one that is not anime stylized piques my interest.

2 would be Ku. Really like its stylization. Though what looks to be its control mechanisms I find kind of off-putting for that type of action/rpg ish type of game which is enough to knock it down a peg for me.

3 would be Hero Siege. It was about the same as Ku but for me Ku benefits so much from its style, whereas the retro style in indie games I just find to be so uninspired.

A lot from this list I already have elsewhere.

Reversion
Project Night
Three Dead Zed
Aeternum
DoE

I saw Space Salvager, and thought it was Dark Scavenger. Dark Scavenger would have been an absolute buy and immediate play, where as Space salvager and its overhead twinstick-ish looking vibe do not really interest me at all after messing with Ring Runner.

Derrik DF is one that I would really like to throw a little change at due to really loving its stylization, but its one that I know that I have not the slightest interest in playing. So Its a developer I hope to see more from in the future and future efforts might be more appealing on a gameplay level.

Volt to me seems like the type of indie game that kind of puts me off of indie games. Its so much like so many other indie games, I think its part of the reason why I have so much redundancy in my various libraries across the indie distributors. Especially in bundles, games like Volt, Aeturneum, Space salvager, DoE, Project night, 3DZ, ect... just tend to blend into the background and start piling up.

So all thpse I would be passing on.

It's in the indiegamestand store if you really want it. It's even 50% off.

From what I hear though, even as porn games go it's pretty bad.

So far out of the list of 11, Seven have been featured.
DoE
3 dead Z
Derrick Deathfin
Reversion
Volt
Hero Siege
Ku

If history serves when these lists come out only about 1/2 to 2/3rds end up being featured. Aeternum, Space salvager, Seduce me and project night might end up falling by the way side.

Honestly I can see IGS bypassing the remaining four out of that list. They all have their problems. Project night seems too unpolished & incomplete right now. Seduce me is what it is and lets be honest with how niche that kind of game is, opening it up for the potential of being bought for as low as a quarter could hypothetically gut the games entire demographic in one shot. Aeternium being an anime themed bullethell is something that seems as if it is in every single bundle out there even though it isnt.

I think I would rather see IGS feature out all four (even though I dunno what if any I would pick up personally) They might not be front line stuff, but they do in fact seem ahead of most of the games being sprinkled in separating em like Spuds Quest Mythklqw;lkwl;jkeuues or whatever it is, Shin Jazz, etc. They all seem better than those entries, and at the very least not any worse. So yeah give em all a shot. No real rush for adding a new crop to chose from.

in one of the 2PP documentaries DoubleFine had made surrounding Broken Age, Tim Schafer said that because of legal reasons, the distro rights to Grim Fandango would never be his. He also made a point of mentioning some SCUMM emulators that you could download, as well as how to get your hands on a copy of GF. if you dont have access to those documentaries, I'll try and find the one I mentioned and report back exactly what he said..
