We've been working hard on the developer portal and just pushed out a live update and converted our contract to a digital contract that developers can view and sign in the portal. Think more Apple iTunes Connect instead of the crazy paper printing and scanning that we were doing before. Now we can focus more on getting games lined up rather than passing back scans of contracts...boring.

We pushed a minor update out this week. It all revolves around the addition of a marketing tab to our developer portal:

When developers upload new files, they will be prompted to send out a file update, but they can also visit this tab at any time to compose an email to all of their IGS customers/purchasers. This is obviously very needed to get all those important updates about new alpha/beta builds of McDroid, Gnomoria, etc. too. IGS approves/denies all emails so developers cannot abuse the system. The marketing tab will also only appear if your game has been sold to users.

Users can customize the emails that they will receive in their account:

All you need to do is uncheck any of the options or emails that you don't want to receive.

We pushed out a huge update to the entire site earlier in the week. A lot changed in the developer portal in order to facilitate the website changes.

First, there's a price field in your game details tab that you can fill in. We use this regular retail price to calculate how much buyers are saving during the checkout process.

One of the most substantial changes is that Bonus Games can now be added as BTA content. They are separate entries in gamer's wallets and steam, desura, gog keys can now be included as well.

If you have other games in our portal, you can just checkmark the ones that you want to offer as Beat the Average bonus games.

Finally, every bonus item that you upload should now have a thumbnail image and description associated with it.

Fill out the information and upload a thumbnail so that everything displays on the new sale page and in the new checkout.

This past week, we added the ability for developers to generate IGS keys to giveaway to press, users, promotion, etc. Developers can use these keys completely at their discretion.

Go to the Game Keys Tab in the developers portal: http://indiegamestand.com/developers/

Scroll to the bottom to the generate keys section. Type in the number of keys (100 max per submit) and select whether or not you want to include game keys (Steam, Desura, etc) and bonus content. Then click submit.

The raw codes will be displayed first (best for game download cards) and then underneath, we display the full redeem links with the keys already typed in (these are better for emails/online).

I spent the weekend building a Press Links/Review section for the developer portal and store. It's under the new press tab and allows you to review all of the press links / reviews that are on your game page, delete them and add your own. This tab is completely optional but may help you sell some games if you have some great reviews and press about them.

You can add press reviews/links by using the form below:

The Title is optional and shown in blue with a link back to the press site. The press icon will automatically be selected based on the link domain. A review score is optional and should be changed to a 100 point scale i.e. 4 out of 5 stars would be an 80%. We require a quote, snippet, or summary of the story that is between 100-340 characters and a link to the story.
