Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space

Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is a hybrid roguelike game of space exploration, adventure and starship combat set within a peculiar region of the galaxy known as the Purple Void. Each time Weird Worlds is played, an instant space opera is generated, but unlike other games of its roguelike kind, it plays to its conclusion in less than thirty minutes.

To celebrate the re-release of Weird Worlds for the PC, we present the ultimate “Infinite Space” game collection. In addition to the new, updated version of Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space for Windows, you can get a cargo hold full of Infinite Space-related “beat the average” bonus content as well, including a massive mod pack and the unsupported (but official) Weird Worlds for pre-Lion Mac OS X.

Grab it now for whatever price you want!

Bonus Content & Game Keys
Pay $1 or more to unlock Steam and Desura keys. Beating the average price will net you a huge list of bonus items culminating in this ultimate infinite space pack. Bonuses include: The Fan Favorites Mod Pack, Mac pre-Lion OS X Weird Worlds, Strange Adventures in Infinite Space Pack (Win 98/XP, Mac OS 9-OS X Lion), Weird Worlds, Data Jammers & Brainpipe demos (Win), The Music of Infinite Space, Digital Eel 10th Anniversary Gallery. Whew!

Featured Charity: Reading is Fundamental

Weird Worlds on Steam March 19th!
You asked for it. You got it! Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space will very soon be available on Steam! Its debut date is (drum roll) March 19th (cymbal crash!). Mark it on the calendar because for 11 days (March 19-29) Weird Worlds will be 25% off ($7.50). What luck (!) that the the Weird Worlds debut bumps up against Steam’s sale-ebration of the Independent Games Festival at the Game Developers Conference, a week long IGF promotion featuring a whole bunch of cool indie games. Meanwhile, watch the skies here, Infinite Space Games (below), the Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space official Facebook page or digital-eel.com for a direct link to Weird Worlds on Steam!

I'm really glad for them. This has been one of my favourite games featured on IGS thus far.

Digital-Eel aka Rich Carlson is a Great Guy and one of the easiest developers that we've had the pleasure of working with so far. I'm sure he plans on uploading Steam keys for IGS users and if he's not prompt about it, let me know and I will reach out to him. I feel the need to tease that everyone will have another chance at unlocking Weird Worlds...and more after GDC.

Digital Eel just launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise $30,000 for the development of their upcoming game Infinite Space 3: Sea of Stars, you can check out the kickstarter page for more info on it. I really hope this turns out well for Digital Eel because I love the Infinite Space series and this new one is looking pretty neat.

Thanks for the headsup! The 2nd Weird Worlds is a fun little game that I enjoyed playing. I'm not too sure though that going for a 3D game world in the latest one will be the best move, but we'll see. I'm definitely watching their Kickstarter project to see how it goes.

Seeing as there's no thread for Data Jammers yet, I figured I'd ask here: Are Steam/Desura/GOG keys available for the bonus games and if not, will they be available in the future?

There are Steam and Desura keys for Data Jammers, Brainpipe and Weird Worlds. The other two are download only (presumably because they're not on those platforms).

I was delighted to see Digital Eel back on IGS - I missed the Weird Worlds deal, so this was a very nice surprise!

Nice! Buying it now!

Of everything in the pack, I'll probably only ever install the Infinite Space games. The rest don't interest me, but the keys for Weird Worlds make the BTA well worth it.

what i was wondering, is i bought Weird Worlds and brainpipe through previous igs deals, i bta here but don't have new keys for those games, nor do they show at the top with my "new" games (assumingly because they would be duplicates in my wallet, which is maybe not supported by the site design). Will I be getting new keys for the Weird Worlds and Brainpipe I acquired through the BTA here, or do i miss out on those because I bought them previously?

I hope that query makes sense.

I think you only get extra keys if you purchased the second bundle for a friend. After all, once you've unlocked the game on each platform, what possible use are extra keys to you?

Presumably you bought this bundle for the games you didn't have. I'm not sure if it's possible to split a BTA bundle between yourself and another person - it sounds very unlikely, but you could always ask support about it...

Our system is not built to split up a deal (i.e. you buy a $10 bundle or BTA with multiple games and then keep 1 or 2 and send another one or two to a friend). If you already have Brainpipe and WW but want to give them to friends, you should use the gift option and BTA. If you're having problems, please open a support ticket: http://support.indiegamestand.com

I was surprised in the same way PlayerReview was. I BTA'd the current deal and had no additional entry/keys for Weird Worlds Return to Infinite Space because I'd bought it in the past. I've already fired off a query to support about it as well.

I figure in duplicate keys in my decision if an item's price is worth it to me, since duplicates get added to the pile for my 10 year old son's soon-to-be-created Steam account.

Now that I know I need to look for this, I found the following item in the FAQ:

http://indiegamestand.uservoice.com/kno ... ut-cannot-

It'd be nice if there was something on the actual purchase page indicating that the current system is designed in such a way that it cannot handle multiple game keys for the same game on the same account. A short bit of text added to the descriptions on the checkout page ("Beat the Average" etc.) that describe what you're paying for and getting would have made this a bit less confusing. Maybe "Note: Duplicate keys will not be provided for games already present in your game wallet. Purchase the game as a gift if multiple keys are desired." or something like that.

I wasn't too thrilled about this either. I beat the average. Everywhere else but Steam gives you a new key. And nowhere on the front page or the purchase page does it tell you that you won't get a second key for a game you already own. At least Steam warns you on the confirmation page. It was only $0.89 more but I beat the average in spite of having already bought those games on this site because I figured I could give them to my girlfriend.

I have stated in the past that our gifting process needs work and if this is something you guys want, please just create a request on our feedback forum: http://support.indiegamestand.com and vote it up. We always monitor that when we're implementing new features.

As I've been telling folks, if you made the mistake and open a ticket, we can split the games up manually and send you a link to unlock the game on another IGS account so that your friends can request more Steam/Desura keys.

Thanks for the quick response to my support ticket and getting it sorted for me. :)
