I wrote about Project Zomboid on my indie game review blog, as well as the hardship the developers undertook. I must say I'm really proud of them for pushing through and having such a great game.

Here you go guys http://lexietgamereyeballsgr.blogspot.c ... other.html

They really need much deserve love.

I was told not to purchase the game though until RC3 comes, I mention it in the blog.

=) I wonder how many ppl here played the game

I don't know that they "need" the love, but they definitely deserve it. It is arguably the most anticipated game of 2013 (completed) and was Greenlit almost immediately. That said, this is a fantastic game and the developers are awesome to post dev updates weekly (Mondays).

Although, the first time I played I accidentally smothered my wife and have ever since had "survivor's guilt".

BTW - I really enjoy how in-depth your gaming blogs are. Most other blogs I have read tend to just scratch the surface and I rarely know if they honestly played the game.

Thank you player =). Someone was bragging to me how he has 30k viewers, but I don't care. I'm glad that you guys like my writing =) and that my purpose of helping the games of the developers be known getting achieved.

D: did you read my Kate and Bob's deatchapade section >.< T.T I killed her...so much by accident

As far as i am for promoting indie games, the Project Zomboid is already well known compared to most of other Indies (it is a great game in itself imho).

It might need defending due to lack of software updates but the Devs themselfs already explained the reasoning (pretty straightforward and they have my support).

Game is fun in it`s current state although can get boring (this will be remedied with an update in future).

Good luck with your blog (didn`t have a chance to read/view it yet), i hope you`ll stick with pursuing the target of getting the games more popular as opposed to making yourself popular ;)

Ps
There are some other games worth promoting, fighting on greenlight:
My personal favourites, order purely alphabetic:
Frozen Nightmare (still alpha, no GL), Mobiloid, McDroid (beta, almost finished), Rawbots (Beta, No GL), Recruits (Beta), Salvation Prophecy, Underrail (beta), Xenonauts (Beta, No GL)

I'll check those games out =) thank you

and haha, someone threw to my face how he was getting 30k viewers on his blog. I told him i'm happy for him but I'm happy with my viewers because my goal is to promote the indie games and help people find these games.

Zomboid just really interested me, and I'm not really into zombie games. Zomboid was getting some heat because they weren't able to push out the updates yet and was set back many times because of all those unfortunate events. As you know.

I always put the developer's side because I want the readers to understand the heart of the game they're playing. =) Every game I review, I also help promote their updates and events to other sites.

I honestly can say, I just like seeing them get the recognition they deserve and I get really into games I play haha. Project Zomboid though was greenlighted fast and has been there for a long time, it's actually the first game I reviewed that is quite known. The fact it's been greenlighted for so long though gave it a bit of a backlash when the bad stuff happened and they got set back =(( However, even if a game is known, it has to have that umph to truly be successful (which pz has). The community needs to see the devs struggles to know that the devs aren't not updating on purpose, they just had couple of bumps. ya know what i mean? and and =) one of the developers left my review a comment :D

I really like Zomboid, as pysiu says it can get boring at times, but its still very good and with future updates its going to get better and better.

I do feel for them, back when the paypal thing happened, they had no money and no way to get at their money, and it kept going up and up as the drama over paypal made the game news. Then they get that sorted only to have their laptops stolen and all their work gone. I know they should have kept backups but who does when they are stretched for time and under pressure?

Also I think everyone has smothered Kate, poor woman. Also the soup fire, first time it happened to me, I sped the game up just to get to the pop up saying soup was done. There was no pop up, just fire. Lots of fire, I had barricaded myself in at that point.

I really like your view on Indie games and the problems encountered by indie Developers. People tend to forget that these are usually 1 or 1-5 members teams.
Those problems + the fact that there are SO MANY games nowadays makes it really hard for even great Indie games to become well known. We need more people like yourself to remedy this :)

Yeah, been there- done that as well ;)

The PZ even though it is in the Zombie genre is an exceptional game imho. In most zombie games youare invicible, you can kill milions of zombies without any problems. PZ tries to keep it real so to speak (if Zombie apocalypse can be treated "real" :))- it is easy to die even when you feel strong- this is a big + in my book.

@Pisyu I know right!!! That's what I meant in my blog, it simulates not only possible real life reactions but also the emotional/physical/and mental pressure and it's consequences on the person. Also, thank you :) I try to be unbiased and open minded and I really do get passionate and into the games I play. That's why I'm so picky =x. Haha I was shy about the devs reading the blog because of it. But they sent me a tweet ;P saying don't worry they'll fix the stuff I thought were problematic =)

I'm going to wait for the update til I purchase though :o people are speculating the update won't come out til 6 months later ._. I actually came across some people who told me the devs don't deserve a shoutout =/ .........

@Kiril ahahah I met people saying they had the feeling of survivor's guilt for a whiiiillle. >.> I uh ended up sacrificing kate to the zombies a couple times.

She was naggin me to get her soup <.<

@Lexietanium: Hehe, this was one of the biggest discovery for me last year- i have only recently found the whole Indie Scene + the fact that indie Developers are usually open minded and willing to tune/modify the game (up to a certain point of course) if you are willing to speak up :)

I can completely understand you waiting with the purchase untill the new version comes out- i bought it already since i liked the description and got angry on Bethesda who didn`t want my money for Skyrim ;) (it was blocked from digital distribution in my country for a long while). TBH for me PZ is well worth the money even in it`s current state :)
And maybe i`m just lucky but i didn`t have any crashes on the current build.

:O where do you live if you don't mind me asking? and I loved oblivion and had all these mods on it, so I was excited for Skyrim. I ended up playing skyrim less than new vegas and oblivion... =( I just got..bored real fast with it I guess even with all the mods I had in it. It is beautiful don't get me wrong, but it lacked, for me anyway, the depth that oblivion had. I wasn't just as into the story as it's predecessors.

I know right? :) I just love the indie-community, they're more...nicer? It's hard to explain, but they aren't as trollolol or hulk rage as the fans of big game companies
