Hey everyone, I wanted to share the game that I launched on kickstarter recently here. The game is called Spectre, and it's a horror multiplayer game. It supports the Oculus Rift, Sixense Hydra/STEM, and Virtuix Omni, as well as standard mouse/keyboard controls.

Kickstarter Link

Image

In Spectre, the goal is essential to scare your opposition. Up to three players control Seekers, who work together to survive and defeat the Spectre. One player controls Spectre, who can set traps to startle and disorient the others before going in for the kill. Seekers can "sense" the Spectre approaching, as creepy audio and visual cues grow more intense as the Spectre draws closer.

Spectre focuses on building suspense, and hands the scares to the players. Through Spectre's kickstarter, we are shooting to raise enough funds to finish developing and publish the game. We began developing Spectre for the 2013 IndieCade VR Jam. Spectre was named on of the contest's finalists, so we continued developing it and expanding our team. Recently, we began working with Hollywood creature artist, Fabrizio Bortolussi, whose works have been featured in blockbusters such as Silent Hill, District 9, and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. You can check out some of his concept art here. Last week, we showed Spectre at SXSW Interactive in Austin, TX.

Please support Spectre's Kickstarter and spread the word. With your help, we can get make Spectre even better.

The previous edition of this game is available freely on Desura. Looks like they're going for an updated commercial release, which is just fine by me. You should check out the free version for a good idea of what to expect in the new one.
Inexistence was strongly inspired by video game classics such as Castlevania, Ghost and Goblins and Mario. The game essentially consists of a 2d platformer with intense gameplay, lots of action and many levels.

This is a new game from the creator of the original X-COM. Definitely check this one out.

Kickstarter Link
Chaos Reborn is a game with nail-biting decisions and twists of fate. Every battle is different, every realm is unique, and there is always something new to discover.

Based on my cult classic ZX Spectrum game ‘Chaos’, first published in 1985 by Games Workshop, Chaos Reborn is part sequel, part re-imagining of that original game brought up-to-date with high quality presentation.

The magic combat system remains true to the original Chaos. It is all about summoning a host of weird and mythical creatures, moving and fighting with them, and using your wizard to attack, defend, buff and de-buff with large array of spells. It is highly tactical and fast paced. But Chaos Reborn expands considerably on this by offering multiplayer modes, a single-player RPG system and co-op play.

Currently, we have an online multi-player prototype working, which you can see in the video. A third of the spells are implemented, but most of the graphics are place-holder and none of the creatures have animations yet. However, the game is fully functional and great fun to play. With your help we can implement all the features in our game design, and deliver the final game to you by spring 2015.

Thank you for your support, and I hope to be playing Chaos Reborn with you soon.

Hi everyone,

I would like to share the Kickstarter project I am currently running for creators of indie games.
It is a library of customizable animated 2D game characters for developers, called InDee Toons.

Kickstarter Link

One toon contains:

    pre-rendered sprites
the skeleton and animation data in Spine format
the body parts as images that can be exchanged between the toons
a custom head generator (another Spine file), allowing you to create an individual head from a selection of parts

phpBB [video]

The characters can be dressed like a paper doll.
Creating your own unique animated game characters with InDee Toons doesn't require any artistic skills and is a lot of fun.

Here's a small preview clip to show you how one InDee Toon brings you countless different characters:

The world needs more classic-style 3D platformers. Seems to me the genre is a bit of a lost art these days.
In Super Distro Horizons Vs. Galaximo's Army, you play as cat-man Distro as he travels many different dimensions to build an army and an arsenal to combat evil alien overlord Galaximo. Armed with a range of abilities and with his trusty sidekick Teddy, Distro is set on an epic quest spanning many different worlds and dimensions, each one given their own unique art-style and each one feeling radically different to the last.

Gaming has changed a lot over the years. What started as two pixels playing tennis is now vast 3D worlds filled with aliens, robots, mechs and super-humans all hell-bent on destruction. But along the way, golden pieces of what makes gaming so great seem to become lost within time. Our plan is to bring back one of these forgotten gems, for players to experience for the first time or video-game veterans to re-live their childhood wonder!

Kickstarter | IndieDB | IGS Suggestion

So this is a game I've been really interested in since I first saw the previews. Guess they're running a kickstarter, and they aren't asking for too much, I don't think.
Magic Meisters is an Action Role Playing Game that can be played as a single player or co-op experience ( Up to 4 Players ) for Desktop / PSN set in the open world of Espiria.

At the start of the game, you will have your own home and the beginning of the story-line will pick up, but it's up to you how you want to proceed from there. Either continuing the main story arc or leaving it, whether that be by foot, by magic, or by mount!

In addition to exploring and questing, their will be many side-quests, achievements and progression points that you can earn in the game using other unique abilities all Meisters have. Collecting and crafting play a major part in the game as well, allowing you special abilities from the very start such as Cooking, Fishing, Brewing and Imbuing.

Perish on IndieGogo

If the video below doesn't play, you can also watch it here.

phpBB [video]

PERISH is a video game, an Action-RPG with permadeath & procedurally generated levels, also known as a roguelike-like.
The Combat is deadly and deliberate, inspired by Dark Souls. Block, dodge and manoeuvre to get a good opening to damage your opponent, while making sure not to give the enemy an opening yourself. Levels are randomly generated, and the structure of the game as a whole is similar to Spelunky. A full play-through should take about an hour, but is so difficult that you will likely need to play many times to become good enough to reach the end.

The randomly generated levels also contain specific unique items and encounters that can be relied on to always occur at a specific level or world every time. Learn the patterns behind the apparant randomness to uncover secrets and unlock new areas and content.

Key Features
  • Procedural levels. Every level you play is unique
  • Permadeath. There are stakes! It really matters how well you play because when you die, that's it. A new world is generated for you to start fresh.
  • Non-random entities are a part of the random genration so that you can still memorise & exploit patterns.
  • Classes that you can choose from to vary your play. Unlock new ones by finding secrets!

Been working on a 2D Platformer/Racer for several months with a skilled team of seven. We've mostly been tackling all pre-production elements of game development, and now we've come up to the point to test if our base concept has any merit. "Project Tanuki" is the tentative title, and we've laid out all the details on the Kickstarter page for it. We have Waterflame composing our OST (guy who did soundtracks for Castle Crashers, Castlestorm, and loads more), and three exceptional artists taking care of the visuals all around. Our prototype right now is hardly an alpha build (as it takes serious money to produce an alpha) and is just a bunch of grey models, boxes, and free resources slapped together for the sake of us two programmers. Instead of showing the prototype, we tried to preview each department of content (art, audio, and logic) in a sufficient manner. We have three tracks fully produced and loads of stills and concept art to represent the game.

Now, the idea of a platform racer isn't the most novel thing (there's nothing new under the sun), but we feel that the way we're approaching it justifies its existence in the first place. We've done as much work as we can on our own, and we even got back from a trip out to Japan for the sake of video and photo references to aid our artists, but now we need aid in funds to make the game. More information is in the link above, if you're interested in helping. Thanks for your time at the very least. Best of luck in all of your own projects and collaborations.

So I bought this one a while ago on impulse, and despite still being extremely rough, it definitely has a lot of potential. There have been no updates in quite some time though, and it would appear that this is why:
We have worked really hard on this while trying to keep on living and doing what we love. But reality kicked in, we are running out of steam, we have struggled for too long without any income, now is the time we need your help to finish the game. We want to put in all the things a gamer would want to experience: The sense of conquest, The unlocking new contents process, The endless customization, The multiplay competition, tactical decisions and the fancy graphics!! And you gonna help us do this.

I sincerely doubt they will reach their $10K goal, which is a bit of a shame, but if you're into turn-based strategy games, you should consider helping them out.

Pale Blue on Kickstarter | IndieDB

There's really too much info on the kickstarter to summarize here, but basically you play as a 'monster' girl who can shapeshift and do various other scary things. "2D platformer packed by intense gameplay and storyline. Play as Ellen to help COCOON fulfill their ambition: to create their very own Utopia while crushing those we know as the 'superheroes'. Pale Blue - Even 'Evil' has story to tell..."

Anyway, check it out, it looks very interesting. I'm not really a fan of anime but it still looks pretty sweet.

We are a small and independent development studio and we would like to present you some information about our game, which we were working on for the past 1,5 year.

Tormentum is a surreal adventure game, featuring moral choices.
The action of the game is set in a dark world, veering between dreams and nightmare. The main protagonist, that the player takes control over, doesn't remember his name nor the place where he came from. Visiting new lands, he slowly starts to uncover the truth about himself.

I've had my eye on this one for a while now. From what they've shown, it seems like a tight little shooter, and it's going to have music by c-jeff. I'm a little worried they had to go the crowdfunding route, but we'll see how it goes I guess.
A Space Shooter and Platformer mash-up with guns, robots and time travel. Currently in progress and slated for 2015. The game focuses on the story of a society devastated by an unknown force. Your mission is to search through the aftermath of rubble and debris for clues that might help you as you turn back time to set events right and prevent the elimination of your people.

Gravia Tactics on Kickstarter

This is looking really impressive. Very nice art, and if the kickstarter video is any indication, it's going to have great voice acting as well. Plus there haven't been many good tactics games in quite a while. They're asking for quite a bit of money, so share this one around if you can; the more attention the better!

Hope it does well. :D
