Hello everyone and first of all, thank you very much for your feedback, and also thanks Mgnade for the post.

Super Tower Rush is my first serious collaboration, it's my baby, and your support will make it grow!

As you all might have read (or maybe not all of you ;) ) Super Tower Rush counts with a hot seat mode and a single player mode so far.
Story mode and online multiplayer mode will follow.
When? Well, as soon as we get the funding to do so, I think we all here know how this works, don't we?

Soli, thanks for your contribution, the AI will keep improving. I know it is not at its best stage, but it is my first one ever. Just give my little Frankenstein some more time! We will work hard on this and the upcoming modes to not to deceive you guys!

Toyotame, IGS is precisely giving devs the chance to bring the games to the stages both them and the community deserve. I think we cannot easily perceive from the outside how difficult it is to manage to select, filter, promote and organize the whole thing for such a big amount of games.
The ones who have tried to do that work for themselves (like myself) know what I mean.

Kiril, thanks for your support, and I think you perfectly described the reasons of André's choice on the art. Note that even the word “Super” is meant to remind you of the games of yesterday.
Enjoy Super Tower Rush anytime you spare for it and don't hesitate to make suggestions on how to improve our work.

Lanark, Gnomeslice, Pysiu and the rest of you guys, thank you and keep enjoying!
Your feedback is very much appreciated.

I am a professional software engineer. I am well aware of what an Alpha build is. But unfortunately the video game world has forgotten it. Let me quote it from Wikipedia - "Moving to black box testing inside the organization is known as alpha release"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_r ... life_cycle). Alpha builds are not supposed to be released to public because they are not worthy of being presented.

For big-budget game studios, this is exactly how it works, yes. For independent game developers - particularly those that are just starting out - there is no organization to test the game internally. So often, they release it to the public, and that becomes their playtesting.

People bought War Z, loved alpha access to it, had fun with friends in it, defended it to death but reality is that the game is still shit, business practices are dodgy and overall has lowered game developer standards. So always think about that game when you defend broken or half implemented games - alpha access or not.

If people loved it and had fun with it, then by definition it's not shit. Not sure what else there is to say about that.
Sometimes I just sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits.

MissScripter, yes, i never ever tried to say your work not worth to be promoted os something. Its sure very different means from different side of sale window and i cnvinced that making games is not easy work at all.
BUT as game market is still market we all understand, that there is some lesser quality games and some better, some of them bigger, some smaller, some repeat well known paths, some tries to invent something new.
Just for example, IGS not long ago feature very cool Doom & Destiny RPG and in same time Desura sells some much worse games - http://www.desura.com/games/valcarta-i- ... -the-demon in example. Looks alike but feel difference!
Not all indies is good indies! New sets of easy usable engines, new tools cause some foxy developers to make "fast money" games in hope that everyone start to purchase them and because of that many players now getting little less friendly to Indie market. As always, several pests ruins dream for everyone.

Toyotame, a game like STR for even a quarter of a dollar goes beyond reasonable, compared to new games on steam that are ~20$

The factor that will define the final quality of STR is nothing but the funding, so, let's go for it!

Thanks again!

Lorena.

Your confidence in your project is inspiring and I know that you have poured a lot of effort into it (BTW, thanks for the SP). I look forward to the finished product.

Additional users from the IndieGameStand Steam group chat room [that haven't posted here] have voiced their appreciation that your game is being featured. I, for one, hope to continue seeing alpha titles featured. I think they are ideal for the model that it seems the founders of IGS want to promote. In addition, the forum members have previously voiced overwhelming support for alpha titles and the game suggestion thread for STR showed a great deal of enthusiasm (including myself).

In closing, I'm glad you decided to let your game be featured on the site. With every deal there seems to be some controversy, but those users tend to just wait for the next deal until one appeals to them. I am glad for their input on the forums as I think that voices are always valuable as long as they back up their criticisms (positive and negative). There is definitely support for your ideas here and I hope to see more projects from you in the future.

my two cents on alphas being featured on IGS would have to be: I've seen some amazing games grow out of alpha/beta stages. if they (the developers) would like to get a bigger user base for their project and are receptive to feedback, I can only see good things coming from a deal like IGS or bundles. my one case in point, which i sorta espoused on its recommend post, would have to be NEO Scavenger. i think it's now beta, but the developer constantly tweaks the game and adds new content, and listens to the community's feedback on what works/what doesn't. as long as the main page clearly states beta, or alpha, or whatever deviates it from a normal finished product (which it does) then i see no danger in having them alongside the other finished games.
