I just watched Northernlion do a quick look at this game, and I'm glad I did. I was going to just impulse buy because I thought it looked really cool, but now that I know it's like a choose your own adventure novel type thing I'm kind of glad I didn't just buy it to be honest. Not sure it really looks like my type of game is all. I still might purchase it if it were on the site, which is why I choose the bottom option there, I just don't know.

I only speak for myself (as I'm sure Toyotame does) but same here, even if it were available on Linux. I think people should be more concerned about DRMs.

We can't answer that question.

In any case, anything by Dejobaan is a vote from me.
Sometimes I just sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits.

Dejobaan games seems to have some sort of agreement going with Valve for shelf-space, which is fantastic for them. Not to mention every game developer I've heard talk about steam sales vs desura sales say the same thing: desura sales are negligible compared to steam sales. Why bother going after an almost non-starter like Desura if you have guaranteed access to steam shelf-space? Here's a great write up by the developer of Defender's Quest that specifically lays out revenue from each source, and how things like steam sales/promotions help a game's sales life.

Every single game I've played by Dejobaan has made me happy in the most profound way. I would def get this on IGS, and if it never finds its way here, will definitely pick it up through a steam sale sometime in the future.

In that case, since they have kind of "screw that Desura pests" position i can only say same to them and discourage anyone to support them.
I heard about "Desura sale sucks" thing numerous times, but there is simple question? Why? Maybe because everyone tend to see them as second-grade quality platform and ready to do anything to get on Steam? And how then Desura can grow?
That sellers, many of them, who whine about sucking sakes on Desura, DONT EVEN MENTION their presentation on Desura on their sites. Peoples who go to site to purchase directly see crap like fastspring or such and only if they search desura manually they can find games. So, of course, if developers tends to ignore Desura nothing good will happen to them.
Not like i think that Desura is God made service, but hearing that flimsy excuses dont really convince me in anything.

When/where did I ever say that Dejobaan games has an anti-Desura position? I merely stated some reasons why, to my mind, they might not bother with Desura sales. In fact, a major point of that article I linked previously was that an indie developer is better off doing direct sells through their website before ever considering steam or Desura. So no, I am not pontificating a "steam's the best, screw everything else" position.

Desura "sucks" because, unlike steam, there is no apparatus in place to truly spotlight games, since sales are handled strictly through the developer's impetus. Steam has internal-based daily deals, weakly deals, weekend deals, etc etc etc overkill on deals that are offered to the developers to participate in. The other thing is the Desura client hasn't had a proper update to it since time immemorial. And in regards to the second-grade quality platform, if this really was the reigning public thought process, I doubt so many bundles would include Desura (and DRM free) exclusive titles. But then there is also their own mission statement when they began that states theyre not trying to compete with steam, simply offer another niche for indie games that wouldn't be featured on steam.

We love Dejobaan, but I don't think we'll ever sell games that are "Steam" only.
