So this just released on Desura (or will tomorrow, looks like). I came across it a couple of days ago and was quite intrigued. I love me a good puzzle game!

Sorry, I just adjusted the poll and it looks like it wiped the current votes. I'm trying to get a feel for the sort of issues people have with some of the suggestions here, so I can better tailor my future suggestions to those needs. Feel free to vote again!

I almost changed my vote to "no, pixel graphics", but then decided i'm still a yes since i enjoy the concept.

The developer has expressed moderate interest in promoting this game on IGS!
Hopefully we'll be hearing from him soonish. :D

Just heard from the developer again! Looks like he's planning on an eventual port to Mac and Linux, sometimes within the next few months!

I'm planning port the game for Linux and Mac in near future (but this future is not so near, maybe month or two).

Hi!

I'm developer of this game. I'm watching this topic.
You can ask me some questions if you want.

Just to clarify, you are planning on porting to Linux and Mac OS in the future, right? Because that would be great!

Yep. I think I'll start work on it in the next month.

Hey, the game outs on Desura in few minutes! You can be one of those who tried the full version the first!

UPD. The last line is for all, of course :)

I'd like to, but I'm broke at the moment. Like, sincerely, flat broke. :(

EDIT: I just played the demo, and Great Permutator is quite a tricky puzzler! I like it! But it's hard! The concept is very nice!

I have but one suggestion:
Something that would be really nice would be the ability to continue 'playing' a level after a crash. When a box falls off the conveyer, the playback pauses, and you can't continue to see where the other boxes will go. If you could keep viewing the playback even after a crash, it would make it easier to see how the other boxes will play out further along.

Interesting suggestion...
But it's not really clear how to implement it. For example, how to continue 'playing' after colliding of two boxes or when box collides with action block?
The game already has similar mechanism for see how only part of all boxes were moved. You can lock some input conveyors clicking on them. This feature is explained in the 10th level, may be you didn't see it. I think it is enough.

The problem with that is that some stages rely on action blocks that require three crates to enter them before releasing the crates again. Which means locking the input conveyers would break your machine.

All you need to do is let the player keep watching after a crate has crashed. Just leave the crate image where it landed with the warning symbol over it so you can tell that one fell off there.

Hm... I cannot say that this idea is bad...
But I also cannot exactly understand how it may be implemented in the game.
Well, I'll try to implement it and see how it will work.

Cool! If you implement it in the Demo as well, I'd be happy to give you feedback on it!

Also, will you be submitting Great Permutator to IndieGameStand at some point? It would be great to have it featured here!

I think I'll submit it when I'll have port for Linux and Mac.

Dev put up a video trailer, when he scrolls through the leaderboards you see gnomeslice's name for a sec.

Hey guys,

ripatti has put Great Permutator on sale for a short time, as well as releasing the soundtrack. Pay what you want for the three tracks!
