Game: Kaiser Earth
Developer: Evil Mountain
Platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux
DRM & Distribution: DRM-Free, Desura
Demo: Yes!

This game is pretty fun. You can build your ship however you like (nearly) to suit your own playstyle. Fan of lasers? Use as many as you like. Like fire-and-forget missiles instead? Slap some on and blow some stuff up!
Congratulations! You have been elected Kaiser Earth. The people of Earth now rely on you to keep them safe from the dangers of space. Decide how you want to build your spacecraft, and attack any potential extra-solar threats; or maybe welcoming other galactic species to Earth might be a good idea? You are Kaiser Earth, you decide (at least for your term of office). Good luck.

  • Create custom ships from randomly generated modules.
  • Protect Earth from threats, strategically command your ship in battles.
  • Decide the intergalactic policies of Earth.
  • It’s up to you to ensure the Earth’s survival, prosperity or doom.

Bumping, cause I just learned about the game and it looks awesome

And it's getting an update
So for the first update along with a few bug fixes and other behind the scenes improvements, the major change planned is going to be an alternate control method (optional! you'll also still be able to play the old way!) for those who aren't into the methodical 'pause-plan-play' tactical strategy way that Kaiser Earth is played right now.

Basically, I'm removing the tactical strategy side of the in-level gameplay and making it more of an action game, with no pausing the action and direct control of movement, if you want. Possibly might even be able to add controller support, if I can make it work without it being overcomplicated, but no promises on that working out.

That's really cool of the developer to implement; some of the negative comments I've seen on the game are complaints about the speed, so the developers obviously listened and are doing their best to please everyone.

The first major update to Kaiser Earth is out! Dubbed 'Super Kaiser Earth', the update features, among other things, a real-time control mode for those who don't like the pause and play action of the game before.

Check it out here!
